Upstream Activities

Torch Energy is actively involved in all facets of the upstream energy business.  Over the years, Torch has acquired, developed, managed and operated interests in over 8,000 wells.  These activities have been conducted in most producing regions of the United States, both onshore and offshore.  Torch has also managed oil and gas activities in Canada, Central America, South America, Europe and Africa. Many of these activities have been conducted in conjunction with affiliates and institutional partnerships.

Exploitation

Currently, Torch is actively pursuing exploitation projects in proven producing regions in the United States.  This includes multi-well development or re-development projects, secondary and tertiary recovery projects and resource plays. Torch has a long history of implementing such exploitation projects on a large scale. The ability to manage the implementation of these types of programs is paramount.  Torch, in conjunction with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Permian Basin Well Services, is capable of timely executing its development programs in the Permian Basin with the use of its well service units, reverse units and related support equipment. Currently, Torch’s primary exploitation vehicle is Resaca Exploitation, LP. Resaca owns producing properties in Texas and New Mexico.

Exploration

Torch is directing the development of a significant exploration project in the northwest portion of the Permian Basin.  Torch has teamed with a well respected prospect generation group and expects to drill eight to ten exploratory wells with reserve potential in excess of 200 BCFE.  Torch  has both a promoted interest and a direct investment in this program.
